For many diners, the holidays and The Berghoff Restaurant go hand and hand. For some, it is finding the pickle in the Christmas tree; for others, it’s ordering a specific dish they only get once a year, and for some, it’s the simple fact that this is the place where they had eaten with loved ones since passed. Every year we look forward to hearing the stories and memories of our multi-generational diners, learning that we are a part of their family traditions, and our favorite—watching patrons create new memories.
Christmas decor is one of Jan Berghoff’s favorite traditions at The Berghoff. From ornate Christmas trees to her German Christmas villages, Jan put her special touch on everything. In keeping with Jan’s festive eye and style, Berghoff Brand Manager, Colleen Silk, and her elves do their best to keep this favorite tradition going. With a 20 foot Christmas tree in the Century Room and Nutcrackers keeping watch, to oversized red ribbons hanging throughout, to the recently opened brew house lit with red and green light, each room is filled with the Holiday Spirit!
We are proud to say that we’ve made it on the nice list for over a century. Because we’ve been so good, Santa has agreed to visit us every week before his big day! Dine with us and meet the jolly man yourself on the following dates:
Holiday Mousse for a Cause: Nov 29th – Jan 1st
While there are many traditions we are fond of, our ability to pay it forward is by far one of the best. Treat yourself to our annual Holiday Mousse for a Cause. One-hundred percent of the profit will be donated in kind on behalf of The Berghoff Restaurant and their diners.
This year we are splitting our 100% profit among two foundations:
The Greater Chicago Food Depository – chicagosfoodbank.org & The Bahamas-Hurricane Dorian Direct Relief- directrelief.org/hurricane-dorian
SOS Children’s Villages Illinois Holiday Book Drive: Nov 18th – Jan 1st
This year marks our second Holiday Book Drive for the children in SOS Villages, Illinois. With your help, we can bring joy to foster children with the donation of a new coloring book or new (or gently used) children’s book.
To learn more about the SOS Villages, please visit: SOSIllinois.org.
We will be accepting donations in person at the restaurant or by mail:
